This document summarizes the differences between Oracle CorporateSync for Palm, Windows Edition and its documented functionality. Palm Desktop 3.1 or greater
Any Palm-compatible device running Palm OS 3.3 to 4x

If you are running an older version of Palm Desktop, check your manufacturer's site for updates.

2 Post-Installation Steps

2.1 Customizing your synchronization preferences for the first time

Right-click the HotSync icon.
Choose Date Book (CorporateSync), To Do List (CorporateSync) or Address (CorporateSync) according to what you want to customize.
Consult the on-line help packaged with Oracle CorporateSync for Palm for more information.

2.2 Synchronizing your Address Books with the calendar server

Choose Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs.
Click CorporateSync for Palm.
Choose either Change (for Windows 2000) or Add/Remove (Windows 98).
Choose Modify.
Choose Next and turn on the Address Book conduit.

3 General Issues and Workarounds

3.1 Synchronization issues

Address Book categories are not synchronized when using Oracle CorporateSync.
You cannot synchronize yearly recurring appointments that do not have end dates.
If you synchronize an untimed Event, Oracle CorporateSync sets the Event's reminder on the Calendar server to your Daily Note reminder default instead of your Day Event reminder default.
Oracle CorporateTime's To Do Item priority levels are different from those on your mobile device. If you have a To Do Item on your mobile device and you synchronize, Oracle CorporateSync may change the priority level of that To Do Item on the Calendar server.
If you create an Appointment with a title longer than 65 characters and perform a Full Synchronization, Oracle CorporateSync truncates the title. This also occurs for Location (maximum 32 characters) and Details (32K maximum)
Oracle CorporateSync only supports English-language synchronization.
Completed Tasks are always synchronized.
If your user name is a subset of another user name on the Calendar server (for example, if your user name is John Waters and another person's user name is John Waterson), or if you are a Resource's contact person, you must use your user ID to synchronize.

3.2 Signing in

When you sign in to Oracle CorporateSync, a list of possible matches for duplicate names is not displayed.

Suggested workaround: Enter as much unique user information as possible.

3.3 Time zones

Palm devices cannot handle different time zones; therefore, a Palm device always reads the time zone from your desktop. Make sure your desktop is using the same time zone as Oracle CorporateTime.
